This is a companion website for an in-home Bible study – whose purpose is to seek understanding of the deep things of God (1 Cor 2:10), by comparing spiritual things with spiritual (1 Cor 2:13), in the book that God has given to the English speaking world, that being the King James Bible (KJB). For those who do not live nearby, this site may be visited to see excerpts of the various studies as they are posted, as well as short “scripture posts” that will be added from time to time. For those who live nearby and would like to attend, if you don’t have a copy of a KJB, no worries: I will have copies available (to take) for whoever doesn’t have one. The reasons for using the KJB are many, and they will be brought to light to all who have an open mind and a willing heart, as we study its words. Seeing that God promised to speak “other tongues” (1 Cor 14:21), and understanding that English is one of those other tongues, we will not mix in anything else (like Greek or Hebrew – except for a few examples to show why we should not mix them in). If God has given us his word in our tongue, then it is by definition perfect, lacking nothing, and is thus enough for us (more than enough, actually). In this study, we will search the scriptures that God has given, and it is my hope that together we will stand in awe of God’s word (Ps 119:161), and behold wondrous things therein (Ps 119:18).
If you already love the word of God, if you believe it, or if you at least have a willing heart and mind to pursue love for and belief in God’s word, and to seek a deeper understanding of it (or even if you’re just curious to hear and see) then please consider coming to visit or join in with this Bible study.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, starting promptly at 7:00 PM (arrive anytime between 6:30 and 6:55) and keep the “official” study time to one hour so that we do not take up the whole evening. Although we conclude promptly at 8:00 PM (for everyone to be free to leave as needed), anyone wishing to stay longer may, with no time limit, for informal Q&A or further “study-after-the-study” or just fellowship and general discussion of the word.
The initial series of studies address some foundational principles to help get us into some of the deep things of God. Our hope is that through this Bible study, we will all learn together in one accord (Acts 2:46, Philippians 2:2) and stand in awe of God’s word (Psalm 119:161) as we behold wondrous things (Psalm 119:18) out of his perfect law of liberty (James 1:25).
